Episode 114 – Alex Cox

Alex Cox is a British film director, screenwriter, and actor. Cox is best known for his work in the punk and independent film movements. One of his most notable films is “Repo Man” (1984), a cult classic that blends science fiction and black comedy. Cox’s other notable works include “Sid and Nancy” (1986), a biographical film about the relationship between punk rock musician Sid Vicious and Nancy Spungen, “Walker” (1987), a historical drama about American mercenary William Walker and the cult western “Straight To Hell” which featured The Pogues, Nick Cave and Joe Strummer. Cox was also the presenter of the weekly BBC show “Moviedrome” which was a must watch for any cinephile. Aside from his filmmaking career, Alex Cox has taught film at various institutions and has written numerous books on cinema. Let Christy Take It bring you Alex Cox.
